I don't know who Tonya is, but Atlantis was one of the first dancers I ever saw, and is well respected--I just wish those who come onto tribe.net, no matter how famous they are, would make more of a contribution presence before they started self promotion or overtones of threats. -

Sat, August 11, 2007 - 4:53 PMsorry you feel that way!. actually one of tonya's student noticed it ,and she's a paralegal. she asked her bosses advise and this is what he recommended . it is a registered trademark and that is infringement so if anyone is at fault for doin something unethical its not us. and its a notice posted .....not a threat.i suppose it depends on ones frame of mind how they take something at the time,.... and tonya is my mom ,and she's reeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeealy nice and my mentor and if i'm well respected it's because of the professional ethics she has instilled in me and many of her former students like fahteim ,kamaal and many others i know you have heard of. and i do appreciate the compliment !thank you .....atlantis -

This is obviously a tongue-in-cheek tribe of belly dance goofiness, where we don't take ourselves so seriously. For you to pipe in with "copyright infringement" allegations is ridiculous and casts you in a bad light.
Have a margaritta and chill out. This tribe has nothing to do with BDUC.
Now, back to silliness......

Thank you for your posting.
I appreciate your concerns and understand where you might be misled by some of the material available on the internet.
However, you are in error for the following reasons:
1- Market: This is a discussion forum. It is obviously a radically different market than your business operations exist.
2 - Content: This forum is satirical in nature. It is a parody. We have created an obviously farcical and impossible 'troupe' that has no bearing on reality or existing idioms.
3 - "Belly Dancer of the Universe" is a registered trademark. "Belly Dance MegaStars of the Universe - The BEST Belly Dancers EVER" is NOT a registered Trademark to you nor anyone else. See also Item #4 noting that due to usage, technically the common law trademark belongs to us.
4 - This Tribe was started November 2004, almost 3 years ago, which predates your first MegaStars DVD. Perhaps it is your organization that stole the name from us. We have graciously allowed your usage of the expression without threat of legal pressure.
The first post of yours on our satirical Tribe is a legal threat. I'm sure this doesn't exemplify the type of behavior or attitude that your organization would prefer to offer the community. -

Sat, August 11, 2007 - 11:17 PMhi ji m... for the record, ours are belly dancer of the universe mega stars videos. using the trademark name .not belly dance mega stars videos.... it's easy to confuse the 2 so ,.....just to get it strait. and happy birthday to you! kind of like got hips/ that was great ! but i don't think anyone should use it because it's taken . and similarities can cause misconceptions . and i'm certain you would feel the same if the situation were reversed. and it's " of the universe "that is trademarked . it's confusing to people . maybe not the people in your tribe but other people that use the tribe for self promotion like your self myself and others. ...therefore to set it strait ,i not tonya,( she has NOTHING to do w/ this or tribe) i posted the disclaimer. under unsolicited legal advisement... i really don't see the big deal . it's just fact. and where out of a disclaimer does some one get a threat??? it's statement ...... a fact ...... end of that! and the community that we regard in the highest esteem and conduct our business in kind,has a right to know the difference . thank you for your time and best wishes ..love atlantis -
